Governments around the world are telling people to get prepared. Depending on where you live, the recommendation is to be ready to take care of yourself for at least 72 hours - and some of the headlines have people wondering what’s coming next.
Cyberattacks? Power grid failures? Supply chain disruptions? Something else?
The internet has no shortage of theories. But here’s my take: Stay prepared, and you don’t have to get prepared.
In this video, I build a practical 72-hour survival kit and walk through the gear, the priorities, and the reasoning behind what goes into the pack. This isn’t a camping setup. It’s a survival pack designed around what matters most when things go sideways:
Core body temperature: Keeping yourself warm, dry, and protected from the elements.
Hydration: Finding, collecting, and safely managing water.
Energy: Conserving calories and avoiding unnecessary exertion.
We’ll also talk about pack weight, how far you might have to carry it, and how long you may be carrying it. Every item has a purpose, and every ounce matters.
I’m not here to create panic or sell you a conspiracy theory. Get information from multiple reliable sources, understand the risks around you, and take care of what you can control.
And this is just the beginning. I’ll be taking this kit into the field in a future video to show you how it actually performs.
Stay prepared. Stay informed. Fuel the Fires.
