Sometimes it’s worth putting the gear down, skipping the fancy editing, and having a straight conversation.
Following my last video, several members of the Survival Dispatch community reached out about a comment questioning my recommendations, credibility, and approach to reviewing gear. The comment itself didn’t bother me, but the response from so many of you reminded me just how much trust matters in this community.
So let’s talk about it…
Gear. Integrity. Money. Trust.
I’ve been making YouTube videos for seven years, and in all that time, I’ve never accepted a commission from a company. Yes, I’ve accepted gear for review, but that has never meant a company gets to buy my opinion.
When I recommend something, it’s because I believe it offers real value. If I wouldn’t use it myself or recommend it to someone I care about, I’m not going to tell you to spend your hard-earned money on it.
It’s that simple.
I also believe the people behind the products matter. When I choose to work with a company, I look beyond the logo and the marketing. I care about the people, their values, how they treat their employees, the quality of what they make, and whether they stand behind their products.
And let’s get something else straight: Being prepared isn’t about having the most expensive gear.
You don’t need an unlimited budget to make smart decisions. Knowledge, experience, common sense, and knowing how to use what you already own will always matter more than chasing the latest and greatest piece of equipment.
That’s something I’ve believed from day one, and it isn’t changing.
Survival Dispatch has built a community of people who value preparedness, practical knowledge, honest opinions, and looking out for one another. I’m proud to contribute to that mission, and I take the trust you’ve placed in me seriously.
This video isn’t a scripted response or an attempt to win an argument in the comments section. It’s simply an opportunity to tell you where I stand, what drives my recommendations, and why your trust matters to me.

No mask. No BS. What you see is what you get.
We won’t always agree. We won’t always buy the same gear. And we certainly won’t all have the same budget. That’s perfectly fine. Respectful disagreement makes us better, and sharing real-world experience helps everyone.
To everyone who watches, comments, shares their experiences, and supports what we’re doing here at Survival Dispatch, thank you.
I appreciate you more than you know.
And as always, let’s keep fueling those fires.
If you’re honey-smack digging the video, leave me a snide remark in the comments section, like, share, subscribe, hit the notification bell, hype the video, and until next time…
Keep fueling those fires.
