I Checked My Wife’s 48-Hour Survival Bag… BIG Mistakes!
My wife handed me her 48-hour survival bag and asked me to bring it back up to speed.
When your wife asks you to do something that’s right in your wheelhouse… you do it with a smile on your face! 😂
What started as a simple gear check turned into a great opportunity to show you exactly how I approach building and maintaining a practical survival bag.
I unpack the entire bag, go through every item, and explain how each piece relates to survival priorities. Along the way, I find missing gear, outdated food, things that need replacing - and a few surprises I definitely wasn’t expecting.
I also put a hard limit of 25 pounds on the bag. My goal isn’t to build the biggest or most impressive kit possible. I want her to stay **light, fast and mobile**.
We’ll also talk about the concept of tactically efficient gear - equipment that buys you time, adds convenience, reduces workload, or increases your options when things go sideways. I’ll also show you why quality matters when your gear needs to stand up to hard use.
By the end of the video, I have a list of what needs to be replaced, added or changed, and I give my wife’s 48-hour bag a final rating.
