Can a single haversack packed by someone else get you through a real 72-hour survival challenge?
To find out, I took the haversack that Blackie Thomas packed for me into a remote 66-acre property in North Georgia and put it to the test.
What followed was far from easy.
With a heat index over 100 degrees, thunderstorms rolling through camp, soaking wet gear, ticks, chiggers, equipment failures, and even a Bic lighter that ran out of fuel, I was forced to rely on experience, adaptability, and the resources around me.
Throughout the challenge, I had to source natural foods, solve unexpected problems, and continually adjust my plans as conditions changed. Every setback became an opportunity to improvise, adapt, and overcome.
The Predator HD proved itself throughout the challenge, helping process materials, solve problems, and keep me moving forward despite the obstacles.
This wasn’t a staged demonstration. It was a real-world test of gear, mindset, skills, and decision-making under pressure.
