I Found the PERFECT Place to Practice Survival Skills
Sometimes the best adventures are the ones close to home.
I recently discovered Long Swamp Creek Recreation Area in Ball Ground, Georgia, and decided to spend the day exploring everything it has to offer. From shooting my homemade primitive bow to hiking the trails, checking out the primitive camping area, looking for signs of wildlife, and putting my Grayl Mission 4.5L Hip Pack through its paces, this turned into a great excuse to get outside and enjoy the outdoors.
The experience reminded me that you don’t always need a remote wilderness or expensive trip to sharpen your skills. Local parks can be a great place to practice archery, test gear, improve tracking, get some exercise, or simply spend more time outside.
Would you camp here? Is this somewhere you’d use to work on skills or test new gear? Let me know in the comments!
