On one of my channels, the host had spoken to store employees at a couple stores in his area who told him that if something happened that would close the business for an extended period, they will get SOME advanced notice, so before they bug out, they have a plan worked out to relocate stock [food, water, hygiene, OTC meds, Pharmacy stock, etc] out of the store and into a secure location for the benefit of them and their families. They said they’re NOT leaving it to be looted. If & when order is restored, they’ll worry about any legal ramifications then.

I don’t blame them; I’d back that play all the way if the rolls were reversed. I think small towns should consider doing this for all local businesses in a situation like that; before people get desperate and loose their moral compass … which absolutely WILL HAPPEN.

I’m thinking they can work with the local businesses to make this happen for the good of the community; I am BY NO MEANS saying they should confiscate stock from anyone; they would have to PRE-PLAN with business owners to see if they could get them on board with the plan.

I don’t know how they would work it out, but I would think they could maybe work out some kind of percentage of the stock to be portioned out for the community & the rest to the owners; whatever everyone agreed to BEFORE SHTF. If they start demanding from businesses owners, the whole idea would be shot to hell.

This would never work outside of a small town where everybody knows everybody else; but this is probably the only way those small towns survive anyway.

There’s a book called “One Second After” by William R. Forstchen. The story is primarily set in 2 REAL WORLD small towns just outside of Charlotte NC on the N. Side of I40, and a REAL WORLD college right across from them on the S. Side of I40 > can’t recall any of the names right this second < - well, they USED TO BE THERE, before the floods last year; the college is still there, not sure how much if any of the towns are still there. Anyway, it’s a post apocalyptic terrorist attack with an EMP that Kearny says is extremely plausible and contains legitimate solutions to potential scenarios. It has been quoted as being “frighteningly real”. The previous scenario plays out in the story with some very scarred scenarios and some reality checks, I think, that most cannot fathom and I would say very few will even believe will happen ……until it does..

It’s the first of a 4 or 5 book series. It was forwarded by Newt Gingrich, and has since been highly recommended by Cresson H. Kearny at the Oakridge Nuclear Facility who wrote the original version of “Nuclear War Survival Skills” in 1979: he commented that everyone should read “One Second After” AT LEAST ONCE, but suggested twice is better because you’re going to come across useful details you missed the first time around.

I was going to drop a link, but most frown on that I think; the whole series is on Audible; I’ve read I all 1x, and book 1 probably 3x.

Sorry for the long message, but as we are discussing preparing and surviving scary attacks by terrible people, it seemed appropriate. ☺️🙂
