Let me say I enjoyed the format of this. Light hearted yet relatable. I’m digging the knife. I have had many fixed blade knives in go bags. Some expensive and proved to be a waste of money. Junk. Others as cheap as Gaston’s labeled fixed blade. Those did well but the tips break when prying. And they slip when hands/gloves are wet.

My EDC is an old Mil issued Gerber AO. Big but made like a tank. Easily concealed. I love the serrations near the back half of the blade.

That nonsense said, I like the way this knife is made. It’s appealing for a smaller fixed blade. I’m not familiar with that steel however. Is it going to hold an edge well and also allow for sharpening on whet stones (I’m old fashioned like that. Just how I was taught as a kid) without needing diamond stones as other hard steel does?

Sincere questions. Very interested. Thank you.

I can appreciate what you’re putting down here with the examples that you have made. First, thanks for taking the time to express yourself well and for the kind words. I have been around “survival knives” my whole life and can understand what you point out quite well. This was why we made the Grayman knife as our first offering. The knife in this video is meant to be for finer tasks but still strong enough for an EDC blade when the SHTF. AEB-L is a surgical stainless that gets very sharp, holds it very well and then is fairly easy to bring back. We wanted something that would hold up in austere environments like salt water and marshes. This knife was designed to be simple with a lot of thought on balance and ergonomics rather than “catchy” features. It’s a knife for people that actually use their knives- like I said, “not tactical cosplay.” I hope this helps and thanks for an awesome response 👊🏻🔥👊🏻

Thanks Dan. You’re a rare breed. Most of the SD audience were tree hugging liberals before I acquired the assets.
