Just after midnight in Gloucestershire, a local call flagged three vans that appeared to be heading toward RAF Fairford. Armed officers stopped five men in Whelford, two miles short of the fence. Police then added the charge that matters: suspicion of preparation of a terrorist act. Army bomb techs and a robot went into the vans. Eighty-five homes emptied.
Fairford is not a British training field. It is the pad U.S. B-1s used this year to hit Iranian missile sites after Tehran went after shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump said the men were under watch and looking to do big damage to our fort.

The call came at 12:45 a.m. Three vans. Whelford village. Two miles from the Fairford fence. That is the object to remember: three white vans on a country road, rear doors open, black barrels on the ground, a bomb robot crawling between them.
The confirmed part is the arrest, the Explosives Act hold, the later terrorism hold, the evacuation, and the base. The assessed part is motive. Sources say Iran is the first line because Fairford flew the bombers. Russian sabotage and an Islamist plot are also on the table. Nobody has named the five men.
