We are approaching the 25th anniversary of September 11th, and intelligence experts are sounding alarms that should make every American pay attention. The Soufan Center and other counterterrorism analysts are warning that 2026 could mark a turning point where coordinated attacks across multiple American cities overwhelm our already stretched federal response capabilities. The FBI just foiled two separate New Year’s Eve plots, one ISIS-inspired attack in North Carolina and another coordinated bombing campaign targeting five locations across Los Angeles by far-left extremists. These were not isolated incidents. They represent a pattern that intelligence sources say is accelerating. The Department of Homeland Security continues to warn about the convergence of foreign terrorist organizations, domestic violent extremists, and criminal cartels now classified as FTOs under the Trump administration.
When you add the reality that hostile nations like China and Russia have demonstrated the capability to infiltrate our critical infrastructure (just look at the coordinated cyberattack on Poland’s power grid last month), the scenario becomes clear. The political and cultural fractures already dividing this nation would accelerate into something far more dangerous: regional autonomous zones or even the emergence of new nations from what was once the United States.
