WHAT YOU NEED TO UNDERSTAND
A high-altitude electromagnetic pulse, or HEMP, is created when a nuclear device is detonated roughly thirty kilometers or more above the Earth’s surface. The detonation releases gamma radiation that interacts with the upper atmosphere and produces three distinct waveforms in sequence, each one designed to break a different layer of our infrastructure. The E1 pulse hits in nanoseconds, frying solid-state electronics, protective relays, SCADA controls, vehicle computers, and the digital nervous system that runs every modern grid operation. The E2 pulse follows almost immediately, behaving like a continental-scale lightning strike that overwhelms the surge protection that did survive the first wave. The E3 pulse is the slow killer. It induces enormous quasi-direct currents that flow through long transmission lines and saturate the cores of large power transformers, the same way a severe geomagnetic storm would, which causes hot-spot heating, insulation breakdown, and physical destruction of equipment that takes twelve to twenty-four months to manufacture. America runs on roughly two thousand of these large high-voltage transformers and most of them are built overseas. Once they go, the grid does not come back on a timeline that civilization can survive. The 2017 EMP Commission, the 2018 Department of Homeland Security catastrophic power outage study, and decades of testing at Oak Ridge National Laboratory all point to the same conclusion. We are wide open, and our enemies know it.
