EARLY WARNING INDICATORS

Security hardening with no explanation. Bollards, patrol cars, and staging areas appearing at your mall, courthouse, or church without an announced reason may indicate that local leaders received information or changed their risk posture. Ask the security team what changed. Catching the shift early lets you move your family’s timing before the news explains it.

Bulletins that talk about activation. For the public, federal advisories referencing encrypted broadcasts, radio-frequency monitoring, or financing arrests tied to Iranian networks may be the closest thing to a starting gun you’ll get. When that language shows up, you’ll have days to tighten up instead of minutes.

Utility anomalies that cluster. Check your water district’s notice page and your co-op’s outage map weekly. One boil-water notice is a broken main. Three similar anomalies across neighboring systems in one week deserve to be treated as a possible probe pattern until officials explain them, and reading the cluster early means your storage is topped off before the aisle empties.
