The country you wake up to tomorrow is not guaranteed. That is not a slogan. It is not catastrophizing. It is the quiet conclusion that anyone honest about infrastructure, foreign threats, debt, supply chains, and the spiritual condition of this nation arrives at if they sit with the data long enough.
Most won’t. Most can’t. The cost of looking directly at it is too high for people who have built their lives on the assumption that the lights will always come back on, the trucks will always roll, and the grocery shelves will always restock by Tuesday.
I am writing this series for the Guardians who already know better — and for the family members, neighbors, and church brothers and sisters they are quietly trying to wake up.
